LEGISLATIONS AND REGULATIONS APPLICABLE IN WORKSHOP
1.FACTORY ACT 1948
*Factory act 1948 was passed by the constituent assembly on August 28,1948.
*This act received the assent of Governor General of India on 23 september 1948 and came into force on April 1,1949.
Objectives of Factory Act 1948
*The working condition in factories,to regulate health,safety welfare and Annual leave and enact special provision in respect of young persons,women and children who work in the factories.
2.EMPLOYEES STATE INSURANCE ACT 1948
*It aims to protect employees against the impact of sickness,maternity, disablement and death due to employment injury and to provide medical care to the insured persons and their families.
3.THE PAYMENT OF WAGES ACT 1936
*The main objectives of the act is to ensure regular and prompt payment of wages and to prevent unauthorized deductions and arbitrary fines from the wages.
The rate of overtime work.
4.WORKMEN COMPENSATION ACT 1923
*The workmen compensation act 1923 provides for payment of compensation to workmen (or their dependents)
*In case of personal injury cased by accident
*occupational diseases arising out of and in the course of employment and resulting in disablement or death.
*The act was last amended in 1976
5.EMPLOYEE PROVIDENT FUND ACT,1952
*The employees provident fund (EPF) is a savining tool for the workers.
*It is a scheme manged under the employees provident fund organisation (EPFO)
*This protect the furture of workers after retirment.it provides protection for the subsistence of the dependent family in case death of workers.it encourages the tendency of savings.
6.INDIAN INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES ACT ,1947
*Difference between employee and employer.
*workmen and workmen disputes.
*prevent unauthorized strikes and lockouts.
* provide disputes settlement employee and employer.
7.CONTRACT LABOUR REGULATION AND ABOLITION ACT 1970
*Contract labour regulation and abolition act was setup in 1970.the objectives of this act are given below.
1.To regulate to employment of contract labour in certain establishment.
2.To provide for its abolition in certain circumstances.
